Earlier Publications
Between about 1984 and 1996, when I worked at Indiana University, I
wrote documentation
(quick guides and folios) about information technology and contribute
articles to BACSpace and the
University Computing Times. Here are a few examples:
From 1990 to 1994 I wrote
book reviews for Online and Database
magazines, publications of
Online Inc.
Sometimes I go to conferences and talk about things that interest
me. Look here for a
home page I created for my presentation at the October
1994 ONLINE/CD-ROM '94 conference.
Other times I'll go to a conference and then write about something I
learn. For example, I went to the 1995 Internet Society Summit and
wrote
an editorial about it for internetMCI's Net Editors feature. That
editorial was later reprinted in the premiere edition of
NetWatch, a forum for discussion of network-based
technologies (now called
The Pulver Report).
Finally, here are links to some more or less
informal hiking/backpacking trip reports I've written.
- Here's an article I did on a couple day hikes in Anza-Borrego
Desert State Park near San Diego, CA. This is the raw trip
report I did for the rec.backcountry newsgroup. It was later
picked up along with my illustrations and published in 21st
Century Adventures E-Zine.
- This is my report on a day trip
into the Maroon Bells/Snowmass wilderness near Aspen, Colorado.
- Here's a report on a three-day
backpacking trip in the Spanish Peaks unit of the Lee Metcalf
Wilderness in the Madison Range, SW Montana. [Under Construction]
- Here's a report on my five-day
backpacking trip with members of Montana Council Boy Scout Troop
679 down the Gallatin Divide trail in the Gallatin National Forest, SW
Montana. [Under Construction]
